The bears came calling for Cablevision Systems Corp. (NYSE: CVC)after the company rolled out a $90 bundle consisting of cabletelevision, broadband Internet and unlimited Internet telephoneservice to new subscribers.
Wall Street didn't like the offer, and the company's stockdropped 10.3 percent to $19.73.
The move by Cablevision, which has about 3 million customers,came on the same day that BellSouth Corp. announced it would launchtrials of a video service within 12 months.
As cable companies such as Cablevision begin offering voiceservice, Baby Bells are seeking to counter by offering video throughalliances or developing their own services.
