Qld: Man charged over biting baby penis

A 27-year-old man has faced court in Brisbane accused of trying to bite off a baby's penis.

The man from Moorooka on Brisbane's southside was given bail after being arrested last Saturday.

Brisbane magistrate LIZ HALL has agreed to grant conditional bail to the cabinet maker,
who is facing charges of torture and grievous bodily harm.

The man can't be named under Queensland law.

He's been ordered to report to police and have no contact with his alleged victim,
who was one year old at the time of the alleged attack in November 2001.

Police allege the man was left with the child before the mother returned home to find
the injury to the baby.

The case was adjourned for a mention at Inala Magistrates Court in Brisbane's south-west
on December the 18th.
